June 22, 2023-Improving Accessibility of Social Media: Social media has become a major way for people to connect with friends, family, causes, and changemakers. As a legislature it is critical to make sure your social media presence is as accessible as possible, come to this session to learn tips for making your social platforms accessible.
July 27, 2023-Understanding the Independent Living Philosophy: Come celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act by learning about the independent living philosophy that is the foundation of the Disability Rights Movement and how it impacts the perspective of people with disabilities.
August 24, 2023-The Importance of Caregivers: Independence does not always mean doing things “on your own” it’s having the control to make decisions on your own with the support of caregivers. Many people with disabilities rely on caregivers to increase independence. Come learn about their role and why it’s so important to have them available to people with disabilities.
September 28, 2023-Housing and Transportation: A Disability Perspective: Historically accessible housing and transportation have been a major concern of Pennsylvanians with disabilities. Come learn what types of things are important to people with disabilities to ensure equal access.
October 26, 2023-A Closer Look at Disability and Employment: In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness month come learn about ways to improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities.
